I just turned 30 and I have been trying to maintain a healthy weight for the past 7 years. Growing up I was not very health conscious and not physically active at all. Eventually in college the poor eating habits caught up with me and I found myself staring at a picture of myself 20 pounds over weight. I was disgusted and I decided I needed to make a change. On January 2, 2002 I started that journey to change my eating habits and become physically active. I was amazed that within 3 months I had lost 20 pounds and I actually enjoyed going to the gym. I hit my healthy weight the following year (after loosing 40 pounds) and since then I have fluctuated 5 pounds here and 5 pounds there, but mainly staying on target.
I love to eat healthy (most of the time) and I love being active. Some can say being active and learning about health is my hobby. I am a vegetarian, but I do eat fish and shellfish… so what that makes me a pescatarian? Either way, I love to cook and search for new recipes to cook for myself, my husband and friends and family.
With this blog I hope to display that you can live in one of the largest cities in the world and have a healthy and fit lifestyle. It is all about balance. Plus physical activity is everywhere!
